QAF:Fic Finally

Title: Finally
Pairing: Brian/Justin
Genre: AU
W/C: 214 (Not quite a double drabble)
Spoilers/warnings: Assumes knowledge of the entire series really, spoilers for events within the series.
Disclaimer: Nothing belongs to me ;)
Summary: Brian has an uneasy nights sleep

A/N: I decided to write this after watching the final episode again, it came from the way Justin faded away at the end of their scene. It was written about a year ago so I hope it's still ok! Unbeta'd so all mistakes are mine :D

Finally

A street light… a hotel room in New York… a dance… a blood-stained scarf… a boy in angel wings… roses… a betrayal… a bracelet bought in Mexico… a reunion… political posters… a sacrifice… a gun… cancer… Hollywood… a break-up… a bomb… a house… a blond man disappearing with the night…

Brian wakes feeling sluggish, as if he has been asleep for months, maybe even years. The strangely familiar dream runs through his mind, some events as he remembers, others completely unknown. He moves to stand before the large windows of his Manhattan apartment. Smoke curls up between him and the glass. Ever since moving to the city, shortly after his thirtieth birthday, Brian has had no regrets. Now, staring at the skyline that has seen him become a Madison Avenue success, he almost feels a longing for a life he never lead.

Some months later, at an exhibition opening for a prestigious art gallery, Brian’s business partner turns to him.

“I’d like you to meet the artist, Brian this is Justin Taylor, Justin, my partner at Kennedy and Collins, Brian Kinney.”

Brian finds himself faced with shining blond hair and a blinding smile. Blue eyes sparkle.

“It’s nice to meet you.”

There is a short pause.

“Yes, it’s nice to finally meet you too.”

SQUEEEEE! FINALLY :D

I loved it, it made me happy! I really can't stand the ending of the series and fics like this can make my day!

Hee :) I'm glad you liked it, I don't hate the end of the series completely, but I did hate how Justin just faded away and then wasn't seen or mentioned again. It made me think of those cheesy plots where they turn around and say 'It was all a dream!'
Ha! And so from that came this. &hearts&hearts&hearts

How about pimping this one a little at the B&J comms ? :D

Okay. I don't have a clue who Brian or Justin are. I also don't know what QAF stands for. Not to mention that my sadly, sadly, Merlin-obsessed mind has drown parallels between this fic and Merlin, and, well ... according to my mind Brian is Arthur and Justin is Merlin until further notice(a.k.a. until I find out more about B. and J.)... sorry about that... XD

Anyhow it's a lovely story and I hope to see more of your writing soon. ^_^

btw - Smoke curls up between him and the glass.
Did you mean that mist that shows when you breathe in a clod environment?

lol! Thanks for reading it anyway even though you didn't know who they are. :D QAF stands for Queer as Folk which is an American TV show that ran from 2000-2005, all about gay men (mainly) and Brian and Justin are two of the main characters. Its really good, you should give it a try! I don't mind you subbing in Arthur and Merlin if that made it make more sense for you lol.

I'm glad you thought it was good :)

I meant that Brian was smoking a cigarette, he does that quite often in the show when he gets up at night. xx

Hee! I hadn't really thought of extending it to be honest, for some reason I seem to end my fics just where everyone else thinks it's beginning :D

I might write a bit more if I get the time.

That was really great! And actually very realistic...

Don't you think they should make one more episode with "a few months later" plot? I DO!!!! *wishes*

Thank you for sharing! <3

I love your tiny fics, I'm just hoping that you are practicing for the really looonnng story. I'm sure you will be able to write one and I, for one will be an ardent reader.

When I saw lindtti's comment it made me think of a final maybe two hour Christmas special of Brian at Britin and Justin turning up and then all the family. Gus would be older (they'd have to get a kid like a young Brian, there has to be one in the whole of the US &/or Canada who can act overjoyed to see his loved Dad and Jus'n. I know that Randy got fed up with the show but I'm sure it was because he knew it wasn't going to be resolved and I imagine that Gale could be persuaded and most of the rest of the cast, all the soreness and resentment must have simmered down quite a bit and from what I read actors seem to often love this sort of one off re-union. It might even save the Cowlip couple - I for one have sworn to never knowingly watch any of their shows again but I would watch that - maybe forgive them a little and watch one or two other things if the Christmas Special was good charming and V romantic...

Well just my perfect world fantasy.

Love from 6frog

Thanks, I'm really glad you like my stuff :) Yeah I think I might have to work up to writing long fics lol, but thanks for the encouragement!

I did idly think about having a holiday 'Justin meets the family' follow on to this fic, though of course Brian wouldn't have bought Britin in this 'verse. I might get around to it eventually.

Thanks again for the lovely feedback :D
